AI Researches, My Pen Keeps It Real

As an independent blogger specializing in disabilities and chronic pain, I’ve observed the prevalence of uninspired, generic AI-generated content within the health and wellness sector.

This reinforces the significance of maintaining my unique voice.

For this reason, I’ve been using AI less to produce content and more to research, collate and sort information– that way my time and effort is 100% in the writing.

Recently, a medical student asked a subreddit devoted to chronic pain what they wished he was learning in school.

Using AI, I was able to pull out the responses, organize them by topic, and use my favorites to illustrate how “Chronic pain patients reveal hidden truths to a future doctor.”

Ironically, my use of AI enables me to quote more real individuals than when I write entirely on my own!

Real Expert Quotes Beat AI Hallucinations

Authenticity remains a crucial element when optimising for generative search.

Our approach is driven by the need to showcase Expertise, Experience, Authority and Trust, pillars of traditional SEO that are just as crucial to GEO.

We create content for our clients before reaching out to them for their expert opinion.

Sometimes this might be as simple as a quote, other times, more detailed insights that add depth and value to the content.

Beyond owned channels, we also encourage our clients to be active on social platforms and relevant forums such as Reddit or Quora, monitoring brand mentions and joining conversations in an authentic way, not as the brand voice, but as a brand champion.

Voice-Memo Thesis, Human Rewrite Only

Generative engines reward depth over keyword stuffing, so my go-to playbook is “AI as co-pilot, never ghost-writer.”

I start with a messy voice-memo thesis dump, then task GPT with surfacing fresh data and counterpoints.

That raw material becomes the outline I refine, and before publishing I get GPT to run an AI-critique pass to find any other holes in my writing.

I finally then rewrite every line myself – trimming filler and weaving in customer anecdotes.

AI Builds Skeleton, Humans Add Soul

Though AI certainly speeds up the process, most of the written content it produces is very formulaic and this is why to maintain human authenticity it is best to use it for structure rather than the body.

When people use AI to create written content, it draws on the same sources that everyone within an industry will pull from, and it often writes in a static robotic manner in which one can predict how paragraphs and conclusions will be worded.

However, by using AI to set-up the structure of the article, you can find each heading title, gather topics, and learn the keywords to tap into, and then you can deconstruct the body of the content and add your human voice.

This maintains generative SEO while still adding the warmth of a human voice.

By using AI to create the structure of your written content while leaving the body to a human writer, you can keep authenticity and still reach SEO goals.

Human Struggles First, AI Edits Later

The easiest solution I have come to know in keeping things natural as we continue to migrate to GEO is to begin with real, human experience then come in then come in with AI.

When I write about trade schools, I write about what real students ask, struggle or seek.

The same is true with career training.

That understanding outlines the voice and outline right in the beginning.

And when I do turn to AI, it can only be to reinforce and not outsource the human voice.
I use it to edit, fact-check or rewrite simple terms while maintaining the human touch in terms of the tone and content.

I do not use keyword stuffing, instead, I pay close attention to storytelling and the use of simple language.

I use AI as a smart assistant and not the main writer.

That will make the content practical, unique, and as per what the readers desire, not what the algorithm desires.

Human Core Idea, AI Style Mimic

Conceive the core idea of any content piece with the human brain.

AI can help tie words into sentences, but real meaning is built on the foundation that, for now, only humans can build: a creative interpretation of an industry trend, an insight drawn from your internal data, client interviews, and so on.

Another piece of advice: incorporate your writers’ unique voices into system prompts, so AI-generated texts resemble the style of your trusted content makers.

AI Drafts, Real Practitioners Sign Off

As AI reshapes how content ranks and surfaces, we lean into what AI still can’t replicate: genuine human experience and emotional nuance.

At Legiit and SuperstarSEO, our GEO strategy combines AI-assisted structure with human storytelling.

AI drafts help speed up production, but real practitioners write the final voice, people who have lived the problems we solve.

We also ensure our experts are front-facing through platforms like the SuperstarSEO Facebook Group, podcasts, and YouTube so audiences build a relationship with real people.

This layered strategy keeps content contextually rich, trust building, and rank worthy, even as AI becomes the search layer.

In short, we let AI assist, but humans lead.

Trench Stories AI Can’t Invent

Inject firsthand stories and details AI can’t fake.

I anchor every piece with personal wins, client hiccups, or lessons from the trenches—stuff no algorithm could hallucinate convincingly.

That real-world grit cuts through sameness and gives readers a reason to trust.

I also rewrite AI-drafted sections in my own words, tossing in inside jokes or industry quirks.

Even small moments—like sharing a real email or a weird client request—make the content feel alive.

Readers crave signs that a human’s behind the words.

The best results come from blending AI speed with lived experience.

That mix stands out in a sea of generic, surface-level answers.

First-Person Truth Defeats AI Summaries

GEO is revolutionizing how people see content.

It’s no longer simply about ranking, it’s also about earning trust in today’s AI-dominant world.

We must learn to focus on tone, structure, and relevance to keep content authentic.

This includes writing clear and direct answers while adding human elements that AI cannot copy.

AI can’t easily use its summarization techniques if we utilize first-person examples, local context, and unique ideas.

The goal is not to be more efficient than AI, but to create more meaningful content through a personalized voice.

Remember that generic content is easily forgotten, but authentic content reflecting real people and real experiences will always cut through.
